The statistics, so far

Ok,
now for the hard facts.

Other than the below picture may propose, Brownie and Snow-white are anything but small, sleeping angels.

My thumb was stained with my own blood, the first time it met Brownie's mouth. She wouldn't let go and nearly chewed off my nail.

Well, that was one of these happy little "accidents" in the first few months, when Brownie's official nickname was "monster" (and that's what her behaviour was like) and my very own Ferret, Snow-white was the perfect gentlelady (she never bit or did anything unexpected)

This of course all changed after the first few months. Brownie learned to behave and Snow-white found out how to do the exact opposite of that.

Still, unto this day neither of them is free of faults.

Brownie stopped strangling my thumb but (very surprising to every of us) achieved to scare away all of our neighbourhood’s dogs (sharp Ferret teeth VS a soft dog’s nose: not a fair duel).

She also gets pretty nervous and unstoppable at times. Just today she destroyed all of the flower pots in the doorway and got herself locked into the kitchen closet shortly after.

Snow-white on the other hand, has a vile demeanour against any kind of gloves and is schooled in the art of sneaking up on people (a feat in which she has achieved absolute perfection)

That all is not to say I don’t love them. I love them deeply. And at the very last, it’s their little faults that moved me into the right direction.

How it all began

It all started 3 years ago.

On a warm and sunny Friday, I checked the local newspaper ads and found one saying

"FS: Beautiful white and brown ferret puppies. 100 Euros/each."

My mum and I decided to go for it. 2 hours later, we were ready and packed. We arrived at a house in the Western outskirts of Stuttgart, rang the bell and were greeted by an
over-zealous dog and it's mistress.
We followed the lady into the living room and there they were: 12 small, overly cute ferrets. 6 brown and 6 albino white ones. One cuddlier than the other.

At the end of the day, we brought home two healthy Ferret girls.

Brownie and Snow-white (named after their fur-colour, obviously) are still with us, and each day holds a new adventure for them.
